FOUNDING MEMBER’S MESSAGE!

WHY ROTARY E-CLUB IN TÎRGU MUREŞ?

Because:

  • It is a great honor for us to be the first to set up this amazing project in District 2241 Romania and Republic of Moldova, and in Eastern Europe;

  • We wish that first Rotary e-club to be the pride of our city, of our Sponsor Clubs, of District 2241 and of Rotary International;

  • A group of 38 kindhearted men and women willingly and in a good faith adhered to Rotary International principles, having a modern vision and long history in Service Above Self for their Community, they wish to bring innovation in the Rotarian movement, in their town and country, having a pioneer attitude as a Rotary e-club;

  • The group which initiated the movement in Tîrgu Mureş, formed by a Rotarian with 12 years of experience and 37 wishing to become Rotary new members, strongly believe they can add value to Rotary movement in Tîrgu Mureş, District 2241, Europe and Rotary International, besides the other existing clubs.

"Rotary simply must continue to pioneer or be left in the rear of progress."
(Founder of Rotary International, Paul Harris, 1945)

"Service Above Self"

"We did not come to be served, but to serve"

“As every member of Rotary should know the Four Way Test of Rotary states:

  • Of the things we think, say or do...
  • Is it the Truth?
  • Is it Fair to all concerned?
  • Will it build Goodwill and Better Friendships?
  • Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

"If you can offer a bit of your kindness, soul, time, without asking anything in return "a priori"; if you have something to say in your workplace or your society, join the great rotary family, comprised of over 1.2 million members organized in over 33,000 clubs in more than 200 countries.".

These are the ideals around which founding members of the group gathered to create Rotary E-club Tîrgu Mureş in District 2241 Romania-Moldova. We are 37 wishing to become Rotary new members and one member with 12 years of Rotary experience.

WHOM DOES IT SERVE TO?

The goal of Rotary Clubs is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.

HOW DOES A ROTARY CLUB START?

Rotary clubs are founded legally, under country legislation and have to be registered by a Court as a non-profit association.

A Rotary club is ran at club level by a team composed of a President, elected for one year, assisted by a Secretary and a Treasurer chosen by the President.

Clubs in a country / geographical area are organized in DISTRICTS led by a Governor, elected for one year, and his team.

Worldwide, Rotary International is led by a President which is also elected for one year. Rotarian year starts on 1st of July and ends on 30th of June next year.

ROTATION IN ROTARY

Presidents are elected for one year, once in a lifetime. Other positions (Secretary, Treasurer, and Protocol) are chosen by the president as he decides his team.

WEEKLY MEETINGS

Attendance at Rotary club meetings are mandatory and are held in same place at same hour. Place, day and time are agreed by all members and are communicated to District and to Rotary International.
